Mentoring Program
“We’ve got to have a legacy of leadership. We’ve got to bring along with us a generation of black women who are going to confront twenty-first-century realities.”
The Exceptionally Me program is a girls-only, safe space gathering that meets weekly. A typical session features a guided conversation and activity led by our mentoring team. Sessions might address topics related to school, relationships with family, friends and boys, careers, health or other pressing issues identified by our mentees.
The focus of our program is to create a safe environment that evokes critical thinking about life, leadership and sound decision making.
The Exceptionally Me program is dedicated to developing positive character traits and encourages self-accountability. It is important that our mentees learn valuable communication skills to help further develop independent leadership abilities. Through goal setting, our girls work on reaching tangible objectives. These skills are essential to success in school, work and life.
